It's hard out here for a pimp!

Okay, so maintaining a beauty routine, trying to be "that girl" and "grown and sexy" so to speak is a lot harder than one would think it would be. It takes so much effort to look natural and effortless, and I am sad to say, I have FAILED.

But as they say, if at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Now that I've finally gotten into the swing of things and have a tiny grip on grad school and life as an adult (who knew it took so much effort to pay your own BILLS?!), I'm ready again! I started by re-upping my wardrobe. I bought tons of long sleeved shirts and winter wear for the chilly weather, but for the first time in a long time, I threw in a couple of trendy pieces. I can be fly, too dangit! Now it's all about the effort it takes to coordinate everything into something resembling an ensemble. It's so worth it though. When I look good, I feel confident and get tons of compliments throughout the day. I've found that when you look your best, you feel your best. As I've said before, it takes as much time to look like a bum as it takes to look good. Now, I'm going to redirect my energy into looking good!

On to all things beautiful!

I've been doing tons of experiments beauty wise about what looks good and what feels good. A lot of the things that I've found WORK will have to wait until another day, but I'll start with fresh garlic in nail polish. I know, it sounds crazy, and it smells even worse, but it WORKS. This s going to sound really odd, but my toenails are spoiled. Over the summer, if I went a WEEK without redoing them, they would break down to NOTHING. My garlic nail polish fixed all of that. I paint on a base coat of garlic and clean polish, then put on my regular polish, and BAM! A pedicure that will last! I'm also doing that on my nails, too. Speaking of nails, I'm actually polishing mine! I LOVE the look of dark polish against my skin. Mine color choice isn't quite dark enough, I'm still on the hunt for that PERFECT color, but I can work with what I've got!

Another look I *will* be sporting this fall? A bright splash of color against a neutral background. I'm thinking a neutral eye with a bright eyeliner along the bottom lash line. It's a look I LOVED a couple of years ago, and I don't know why I abandoned it!

Ciao!
